Gotu Kola Pt. 3 and Mr. O

IMG_3097

Hey everyone! I hope you are having a great week and enjoying some of the last few warm days, at least where I’m at. I have been extremely busy the past week or two with work, traveling to Las Vegas for Mr. Olympia and diving right back into school. So I just wanted to share an update and my experience while I was down in Las Vegas.

First off, it made me sad when I went searching for my Gotu Kola pills in my bag, I was disappointed to not find them. I forgot them back home so I was not able to stay consistent with taking my 6 pills a day. I had all of my other supplements (multivitamin, fish oil, thermogenic) except the most important for this update. So with that being said below is my 6 week comparison photo.

If you remember some of the benefits of Gotu Kola, I would definitely say in combination of my diet, exercise, and consistency, I am seeing a difference in my chest. It has only been 6 weeks, and taking on this opportunity has allowed me to reflect on how far I have come. I wish I had more pictures of me with my shirt off but I was so self conscious at the time, it just wasn’t going to happen. I look forward to many more weeks, using Gotu Kola to see what may come.

As I continue to write and produce more, people continue to come up to me at the gym, outside of school or work, and let me know how much they appreciate my efforts. It is really inspiring to have a handful of individuals that follow me on my journey. It makes all the difference to have people behind you on your efforts to change your own life as well as the lives of others. So I will keep you updated with Gotu Kola soon enough. I have decided to extend the comparison photos and updates to every 3 weeks instead of every 2. So the next update will be 3 weeks from now and I hope you will see even more of a change when I return with another comparison photo.

Well let me give you the rundown of our experience in Vegas…unforgettable! First off, we got to return to the greatest place to have AYCE (All You Can Eat) Sushi and of course, Raising Cane’s. It was such a blessing to have that awesome food again. Just to put into perspective, I put away 12 rolls, 16 pieces of nigiri style, and 4 orders of sashimi. I could have eaten more but decided to take it easy. So that was one of the great moments last weekend.

Next up, was of course the Mr. Olympia Expo. The expo was from 10-5, Friday and Saturday. Friday we lined up early but not early enough. We had to park at a nearby hotel parking garage because the parking lot filled so quickly. Once we got into the expo, it was incredible to see the efforts of each company with their booth representing their supplement or product line. It was the largest convention center halls I had ever been in. Friday I met some really cool and popular fitness pros.

Saturday, we lined up even earlier to get in right as it started and I cannot tell you how many sample packets of supplements we got in total. We ended up getting over 6 reusable grocery bags full of stuff including shirts, shakers, food, and supplements of all kinds. It was one of the most memorable experiences I have had and we cannot wait until next year’s Olympia!

In the mean time, keep an eye out for my upcoming video on my Youtube channel of all of our memories while at Olympia. I hope it will be done by the end of this week but I might throw it into next weeks post as well. Until them, continue achieving your greatest fitness goals and never give up. You can achieve anything if you but simply put your mind to it!

Have you all have heard of the biggest fitness expo and bodybuilding competition in Las Vegas? If not, you can get a little insight as I travel with my wife to the Mr. Olympia Expo this weekend. Just to give you a reference, there were over 55,000 fitness and bodybuilding junkies at the expo alone last year! We are going to see some of the top competitors and companies in the fitness and supplement world. Names like Phil Heath, Kai Greene, Ronnie Coleman, Dana Lynn Bailey, Jay Cutler, Big Rammy, and more.

Today we are driving down from Southern Idaho with a ton of friends from BYU-Idaho. We will be here in Vegas the whole weekend, getting supplements from Muscle Pharm, Bodybuilding.com, GAT, Optimum Nutrition, 1-Up Nutrition and so many more companies! This is going to be an experience I will never forget. I think I found my newest love and passion for fitness expos.

I just thought you could take a look at my physique pictures and see if I could compete one day…I mean definitely not against this class of contestants. So I just wanted to put my pictures up to show that you can make something happen from nothing. If I had a photo or two with me at my heaviest weight with  my shirt off, I would absolutely love to show you all. This is the best I’ve got and I apologize ahead of time for that. I definitely need to take an updated photo because I feel my growth has been improving since this time. Stay strong and focus on the small goals to achieve the greater successes and end goals.

After our adventures at Mr. Olympia, I will look forward to sharing all of our memories with you guys. It will be one never forgotten. Unfortunately we won’t be able to attend any of the physique or bodybuilding shows, since we will only have time for the expo. Event details are HERE in case you want more info. I hope to see you all down here. If not, there is always next year!

Here is what we have to look forward to once again. There is always a matchup between Phil Heath (7-time Mr. Olympia) and Kai Greene (never won Mr. Olympia). Phil has won over Kai at Mr. Olympia but Kai has had several successes at Arnold Classics and placed top 3 in other competitions. I can’t wait to see what happens this year with these two going head-to-head. I think Phil Heath has another one soon to be under his belt!

Today’s motivation is about Mr. Olympia but I want to share some inspiration from the competitors themselves, giving you insight to the passion they all share and the crown they all fight for. I hope each of you are able to find a love for being healthy, achieving success at every corner of life. You deserve to be recognized for every small step forward and backwards, no matter what!

Just a late update before I put this post out for all of you…rumor has it that Kai Greene will not be allowed to participate in this years Mr. Olympia. As I have heard from several people, Kai had a booth that was going to be at the Fitness Expo. As far as I know, he was supposed to notify the International Federation of BodyBuilding that he was going to have a booth at the Expo but he didn’t get that memo. Unfortunately, Kai Greene will not be participating this year in the 2015 competition.
